Smoke House

Smoke House! Yes! Smoke House! It was the place which I brought DA for his birthday dinner treat last year (Yes, it was a year ago and I'm writing about it, finally!). Located in Jalan Mayang, Smoke House is a real romantic place for candle light dinner. While waiting to be seated or ordering your food, you can have a drink in the waiting area and the waiting area was just like a living-room for you -- cozy, warm and comfortable! Of course, if you play piano, you can "show" your skill there too :p Wouldn't it be nice if your BF or GF could play piano and he or she is playing for you? ahaha~

Three-course meal (RM128.00)

Starter: Mushroom Soup

Main Course: Roast Rack of Lamb
(Very nice, tender and juicy!)

Dessert: Creme Brulee
(nice nice!!!)

Cocktail (RM15)

Fettuccine Salmon (RM28)
(The fettuccine was little over-cook for me, and the portion was kinda big!)

(Oops! I forgot to take a pic of the coffee :p)

Sushi Zanmai - Lunch

Here's my lunch at Sushi Zanmai today:

Cha Soba (Small - RM8.80)
(The first time when I had Cha Soba was many years ago when I travelled with Japan Airline, and I really miss this dish very much!)

Sukiyaki (RM 15.80)
(Erm... this wasn't my favorite, the soup was kinda salty to me and the beef wasn't my favorite too)

YuYu's personal rating, which based on her personal taste bud and feeling:-

Food: 7/10
(I only tried these two dishes today, and I'll definitely come back for other food)
Drinks: 8/10

Service: 8/10 (kinda good service, which waitress always come and refilled the green tea by themselves)

DA's Birthday

Few weeks ago...

Thai food? Japanese food? Western food? Korean food? Italian food? or.... Oh my, I couldn't make up my mind where to bring DA for his brithday dinner!!!

Few days ago...
Still thinking the same question... where to bring him oo?

Finally one day ago...

OK, decided!!! Let's try Tex-Mex Food!!!

________________________________________________________________
Yoyo! It's DA's big day! I brought him to Jaya One for birthday dinner. It was our first time stepping into Jaya One, and I wasn't sure what is nice there... Since DA brought me for Spanish food on V-day, so let's try some other cuisine which we have never tried before... and here you go -- Tex-Mex Cuisine @
FRONTERA Bar & Grill ! Erm.... we were not so sure what to order as it's our first time dining in a Tex-Mex Restaurant... and finally we just go for Taquitos de Pollo, Chimicanga Frontera and Horny Margarita.

Taquitos de Pollo (RM19.95)
Shredded chicken, hand-wrapped in corn tortillas then flash-fried and served with salsa and sour ream.
(The cream was so freshing!)

Chimicanga Frontera (RM23.95)
Homemade flour tortilla filled with either seasoned beef or shredded chicken, refried beans and cheese.
(I love the cheese on the top of the tortilla)

Horny Margarita (RM22.95)
(Again, I don't really drink... but I still can tell that it tasted quite good to me to me :p )

Yes, we shared among the food and we actually felt kinda full after the meals. However, I always have room for dessert!!! and YUP!!! Tah-Tah~ the mini birthday rose-favor cake from Tea of Life. This rose-favor cake tasted kinda special and you could really taste the "rose", however, a pity that we felt kinda sweet after we had almost half of the cake.

Rose-favor Cake
(This is an organic cake and you could really taste the rose-favor. I think they actually put roses and blended or mixed them with the flour and baked it. There were some dried flower petal inside the cake, which we first thought it was XIU KEONG :p wahaha)

YuYu's personal rating,
which based on her personal taste bud and feeling:-
Food: 7/10
Drinks: 8/10

Service: 6.5/10 (I'd made a reservation a day ago, however when we reached there, the staff seems not knowing about the reservation. Anyhow, the restaurant wasn't crowded and only 3-4 tables were occupied when we reached at 7pm++. Overall, service was just OK)

Ambiance: 6/10 (A very ordinary dining place, give me the feeling sitting in Nando (Oopsy!))

Frontera Bar & Grill

V-day dinner

Yup, it's the month of V-day!

It's our 2nd Valentine's and DA brought me to La Cocina at USJ9 for a V-day dinner. It's to my surprise that DA actually brought me to this nice restaurant without revealing anything about the v-day plan. I'm normally the one who always request the places I want to go or the food I want to eat, and he will always be the driver and bring me to look for the food or the places.

You know what, I don't have the restaurant interior picture as I'd totally forgotten to take a pic of it! Erm... however, I still remember about the FOOD, fortunately! YUMMY, YUMMY!

Since they don't serve other food besides from the V-day menu, we have not much choice and we made a quick decision to have each of the starters, same soup, Scallops Fettuccine, Lamb Rack and each of the desserts.

Spring Chicken Cubes With Boletus Mushroom Cream Sauce On Filo Pastry Shell

Stuffed Squid With Herbs & Spices Peppers Served Picon mayo & Picon Verde

Spanish Onion Soup with Almond & Saffron
(I love the Almond in my soup!)

Baked Large Scallops Tossed with Fettuccine Pasta
(The scallops was very soft and we thought we're chewing some fresh fish balls and the pasta was very Q, very well control of timing :p )

Lamb Rack Roasted with a Pommery Mustard, Garlic and Herb Crust
(This was really great and the lamb was tender and juicy!!!)

Rich Spanish Flan with Chocolate and Caramelized Bananas
(I love this too! There's choc at the bottom surprised me!)

Spanish Pear Tart with Vanilla sauce
(This was nice too, but we still preferred the flan)

Home-made Chocolate Truffles
(DA drew a smiley with coffee, the choc melted fast after u put it into your mouth)

Last but not the least and my favorite - Sangrias
(I don't really drink, but this cocktail tastes really nice and I couldn't stop sipping from DA's glass :p)

DA and I really had a wonderful dinner on that day! Each of the set dinner costs RM88++ and the Sangrias on that day was about RM16++. Since they only served V-day menu that day, I'll surely go back for the Paella Negres and some other tapas and of course the SANGRIAS! Cheers~ and thank you DA *Sweet*

YuYu's personal rating, which based on my personal taste bud and feeling:-
Food: 9/10

Drinks: 9/10

Service: 8/10 (deduct 1 mark for forgetting to deliver the homemade choc truffles, hehe)

Ambiance: 8/10 (A warm and cozy place, not so romantic like Smoke House though)

My first blog, all over again...

I couldn't remember when was the last time I blog about food, about my life, about my work and (dot dot dot). I always wanted to start all over to blog again, however I just feel lazy... oh yea... I am a lazy fish... and I have no idea what to start with. But... Today, something just HIT me and yup, I'm now sitting down in front of the computer and try to start blogging again. I don't know how long I'll keep the passion of blogging as I'm not really good at wording nor writing AND the most important thing is.. yes, u are right, I AM LAZY!!! Wahahahaha~

Well, I kinda like this phrase by Lum Hoi Fung, erm... something like this:
"写blog的人是露体狂, 看blog的人是偷窥狂"
However, I'm not a 露体狂, but I think YOU are a real偷窥狂, hehe...

well, CHEERS~
